Option 2: Add a Dropped Table Extension to my Island

Dropped table extensions occur when the original island surface is slightly higher than the added table surface, creating a beveled effect. Because the two surfaces are not the same height, they do not share the same piece of countertop. This can be compared to a level table extention which occurs when the table surface and the surface of your original island are the same height and do share a single countertop.
